Keypad lock on the front door
Old deadbolt and knob out, the bore checked, a keypad deadbolt and matching lever fitted and aligned so the door closes and latches without a shove.
Huntsville & Madison County, Alabama
Sticking doors fixed. Deadbolts and keypad locks installed. Hinges, handles and hardware replaced.
A door that used to latch and now does not is usually hinges, the strike, or the slab swelling with the humidity. Each one is a different fix.
We find out which before anything gets cut, square the door back up, and set the strike so it catches on a light push.
A keypad lock only works as well as the door it is on. We square the door and strike up first, fit the lock, then run it a dozen times with the door shut to make sure it throws clean every time.
On any exterior door we work on, the short builder screws in the strike plate get swapped for three inch screws that reach the framing. It costs almost nothing and it is the single best thing you can do for a front door.
